The Voice of the Wild is Fading
The world allocates billions to increase and improve biodiversity, yet the results consistently fall short. The tragic truth is that for many conservation projects, the biggest hurdle isn’t the environment, it is the system designed to protect it.
A Disjointed Industry:
The current conservation landscape is a maze of disconnected efforts. Dedicated field experts operate on thin budgets, constantly hampered by the complexity of securing and retaining financial backing. Funds move slowly, decision-making is opaque, and critical time is lost waiting for political approvals.
A Model Built for Accountability
We operate as a fund, raising capital directly for our physical, proprietary facilities, the “Arks.” By owning and operating the infrastructure ourselves, we ensure a closed loop where all money is kept inside the business and tracked with precision.
100% Assurance: We guarantee that every contribution is actively tracked from its source to its tangible impact on the ground, bypassing the administrative hurdles and opaque politics that plague traditional funds.
Meet the Founder: Scott Breckendrige
From Blueprint to Biodiversity
Scott Breckendrige, originally a Construction Lead, leveraged his business skills and constructions logistics to pursue his lifelong passion for all animals. After building and establishing his own globally respected breeding facility in Australia, he recognized that systemic funding failures were crippling conservation projects worldwide from their true potential. He founded The Ark Collective to close this gap, applying his specialist discipline to create a transparent, accountable fund. Now, through Ark Project 1 – São Paulo Brazil, he is scaling this proven model globally, guaranteeing that capital is deployed directly to teams re-wilding success.
The First Ark: Project São Paulo, Brazil
Project São Paulo is The Ark Collective’s inaugural, signature initiative. Its foundation is not just concrete and steel, but decades of proven Brazilian expertise.
We are building a state-of-the-art captive breeding center on the outskirts of São Paulo. This is done in total partnership with established specialists on the ground, specifically Beto Polezel and his institute (ICFau).
This facility’s mission is clear: to guarantee the supply of genetically viable populations of endangered species. We serve as the core breeding platform, working directly with established reintroduction programs to ensure our successful offspring are prepared and transferred for release back into the wild.
The goal is to move beyond isolated rescue efforts and deliver a broad, coordinated, and scientifically verifiable foundation for species recovery across Brazil.
